You may have noticed that the shabby old shed at the back of the Settlers Hall has undergone a huge makeover! Home to the Omokoroa Toy Library, the once innocuous shed has been transformed into a playful mushroom house complete with spotted roof and cartoon mushroom door.
The fun exterior now matches the fun contents inside the Toy Library that is home to hundreds of toys available to rent. Annual membership fees apply and are reduced for volunteers willing to run the Library a couple of times a year. A 2 month trial membership is also available, perfect if you have children visiting for a holiday.
The Library is run by volunteers and relies on various grants and support from the community. The Toy Library Committee would like to say a very big thank you to The Omokoroa Centre Trust for the grant that made the recent renovations possible. Also GT Signs, Annita Murray (artist), Brian Jeffs (painter), Omokoroa Print & Copy, Carpet Court and Alliance RV for their contribution to the makeover and of course all of our members who use the Library & volunteers who run it.
New members are welcome to come check out the Toy Library on Saturday mornings 9:30-11am.
