Hopefully lots of you will know that on Sunday 11th November we are holding the annual Omokoroa Coastal Challenge Run/Walk fundraiser. This year we are splitting our profits between the Tauranga Community Foodbank and the Waihi Beach Surf Life Saving Club to reflect the wide area that people come from to do our event. However, to keep some of the funds supporting the Omokoroa Community this year we are donating $30 to the Omokoroa Fire Brigade and First Response Team for every Marshall that volunteers thier time. It is super easy to be a Marshall – most of you will just need to make sure people are going in the right direction. A few of you will be at road crossings but the event is well sign posted and competitors have to give way to traffic. We will give you full instructions and a high vis vest so all you need to do is direct and encourage people as they go past. You will need a cell phone to keep in touch with your co-ordinator and in case there is a first aid issue. For those of you who Marshalled last year – there is no bike event this time so it is only runners and walkers! So if you have nothing planned for the morning of Sunday 11th Nov (and are not keen on running or walking in the event yourself) then WE NEED YOU!!! If you would like to know more or are keen to help please email Tammy Bruce at tammybruce@gmail.com. If you don’t have access to email you can call Catherine on 02102459106. YOu can find out more about the event at www.runrunrun.co.nz. Thanks for your support.
