This lovely bush reserve in Te Puna situated between SH2, Loop Road and Armstrong Road has a 2 km walking track around a small lake. Unfortunately, invasive weeds have become a problem, and most can only be removed by manual weeding. Monthly working bees are now being held at I’Anson Reserve on every third Thursday of the month. The third one will be held this Thursday (18 July) at 9.30am. Please gather at the car park off Loop Road, off SH2. Bring suitable clothing and foot wear, gloves and your own hand tools and drink/food if you wish.
If you have any creative ideas on how to attract coorporates or groups to come along for work days at the reserve to help achieve our weed free goal, please get in touch. Please share this invite with anyone you know who may be interested.
This project is a partnership between Forest and Bird and the QEII trust and the community.
