It saddens us to that we have to remove this tree We have over the 20 years been watching this tree grow and our children have played in it is special to us. In recent years we have spent a lot of money limbering the tree and also with the roots trying to make them deeper this was done by professional tree people on there advice and also other second opinion advice. However the tree has not done what every one had hoped and has now been identified as a safety hazard by three entity’s the tree surgeons. The insurance accessor and a client whom felt unsafe with the tree on a windy night. With the new Health And Safety Act Our hands are tied. This has been emotional for us as well We
Are passionate about bush, trees and birds. My husband donated bush land for reserve on his farm preserving special Puriri trees. We also donate to the local bird group which has grown the bird population in the area. We have and will actively plant more trees in our park no matter of the maintenance and cost as due to this act we now have to use only professionals to deal with trees.
Please try to understand and pass on to community members who are also concerned.
