LAST CHANCE
It has been talked about for more than 10 years. The Council have set aside land for education facilities on Prole Road, Omokoroa. Hundreds of children from Apata, Omokoroa, Pahoia, Te Puna, Whakamarama, the Minden and Plummers Point Peninsula are travelling along the dangerous SH2 corridor every school day because there is no High School in the area. Included are many children from the Bethlehem area who do not attend the fee paying faith school. Is it fair that our children are now spending on average more than 10 hours on a bus travelling to and from school each week? Think of all that homework or leisure time they are missing. Research has shown that the further the journey to school the lower the educational grades as an outcome. One young man I met yesterday said that his bus took 1.5 hours on a recent journey! So please good people, think of our future generations education. Sign the petition for a High School on line at goo.gl/skgnHd. Alternatively the paper versions are available to sign at the Challenge Garage, Omokoroa Tall Poppy Estate Agents and all the local preschools and Primary Schools. We only have until the end of November to complete the petition. YOU CAN MAKE THIS HAPPEN.
Thanks
