At the June Community Board meeting the Regional Council presented their plans for a much improved bus service starting December 10. There will a couple of early commuter services and then hourly services from 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday followed by evening commuter services. The bus service will start from the ferry terminal and it will be possible to transfer at the Park & Ride to a Katikati service, if you wish to travel in that direction. Very good news for Omokoroa.
Well, back up the bus, folks.
Not so fast – see the attached details for what we are really getting:
No extra commuter service; no link to the ferry; no hourly service; no connections to Katikati; no weekend service.
We get an extra daily service instead on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and five minutes extra in town to do the shopping.
My apologies for getting your hopes up.
